Whether a mould is good or not, in addition to the quality of the mold itself, maintenance is also the key to extend the mould life.Injection mold maintenance includes: pre-production mold maintenance, production mold maintenance, downtime mold maintenance.
First, pre-production mold maintenance are as follows.
1- You must clean oil and rust in the surface, checking whether the cooling water hole has foreign objects and the waterway is smooth.
2-whether the screws and clamping clips in the fixed template are tightened.
3-After the mold is installed on the injection machine, run the mold empty and observe whether the operation is flexible and whether there is any abnormal phenomenon.
Second, the maintenance of the mold in production.
1-When the mold is used, it should be kept at normal temperature, not too hot or too cold. Working under normal temperature can prolong the mould life.
2-Every day, check whether all the guiding columns, guide bushings, return pins, pushers, sliders, cores, etc. are damaged, scrub them at the right time, and add oil to them regularly to prevent tight bite.
3-Before locking the mold, pay attention to whether the cavity is clean, absolutely no residual products, or any other foreign matter, clean up the hard tools are strictly prohibited to prevent touching the surface of the cavity.
4-The cavity surface has special requirements of the mold, such as high-gloss mold absolutely can not be wiped by hand or cotton wool, the application of compressed air blowing, or use senior napkins and senior degreasing cotton dipped in alcohol to gently wipe.
5-Regularly clean the mold parting surface and exhaust slot of foreign objects such as rubber wire, foreign objects, oil, etc.
6-Check the water line of the mold regularly to make sure it is smooth and tighten all the fastening screws.
7- Check whether the limit switch of the mold is abnormal, and whether the slant pin and slant top are abnormal
Third, the mold maintenance when stop using.
1-When the operation needs to stop temporarily, the mold should be closed, so that the cavity and core are not exposed to prevent accidental damage, and the downtime exceeds 24 hours, the cavity and core surface should be sprayed with anti-rust oil or mold release agent. When the mold is used again, the oil on the mold should be removed and wiped clean before use, and the mirror surface should be cleaned and dried with compressed air before blowing dry with hot air, otherwise it will bleed out and make the product defective when molding.
2-Start the machine after temporary shutdown, after opening the mold should check whether the slider limit moves, no abnormality is found before closing the mold. In short, be careful before starting the machine, do not be careless.
3-To prolong the service life of the cooling water channel, the water in the cooling water channel should be removed with compressed air immediately when the mold is out of use.
4-When you hear a strange sound or other abnormal situation from the mold during the production, you should stop immediately to check.
5-When the mold finishes the production and get off the machine, the cavity should be coated with anti-rusting agent, and the mold and accessories should be sent to the mold maintainer with the last produced qualified product as a sample. In addition, you should also send a mold using list, fill in the details of the mold on what machine, the total number of products produced, and whether the mold is in good condition. If there is any problem with the mold, you should put forward specific requirements for modification and improvement, and hand in an unprocessed sample to the maintainer for the mold worker’s reference when repairing the mold, and fill in the relevant records accurately.
